Putin says economic council to set policy guidelines till 2025
MOSCOW, May 25 (PRIME) -- The Russian presidential economic council, which restarted its meetings on Wednesday, will set the guidelines for the country’s economic policy until 2025, President Vladimir Putin said in a speech at a council meeting.
“Our goal is to discuss and set the key guidelines for the economic policy until 2025, to define the key growth factors of the economy and development factors of the social sphere. This goal is important today, the majority of experts share an opinion that the Russian economy has in general stabilized, has adapted to the current conditions and it is important, I will put this as ‘to look beyond the horizon,’ to turn to strategic issues,” Putin said.
He said that Russia needs structural reforms of the economy which will not trigger inflation acceleration.
Russia’s gross domestic product (GDP) will continue to see about zero dynamics if authorities do not find alternative sources for growth, the president said.
